Where is Restaurant EISVOGEL — and is it part of Der Birkenhof?
Obendorfers EISVOGEL is the Michelin-starred restaurant of Der Birkenhof Spa & Genuss Resort, Hofenstetten 55, 92431 Neunburg vorm Wald — in the Upper Palatinate Lake District, Bavaria. Restaurant and resort belong together: the EISVOGEL is the gourmet restaurant of the house, led by head chef Sebastian Obendorfer. Around 45 minutes from Regensburg, 1¼ hours from Nuremberg, 2 hours from Munich.
How many Michelin stars does Obendorfers EISVOGEL have?
Two stars in the Guide MICHELIN, plus 9+ pans in Gusto, FFFF+ in DER FEINSCHMECKER, five cutlery symbols in Schlemmer Atlas, 96 points at Falstaff, the Varta Tip for cuisine and service and four diamonds at HENRIS. In 2025 the Falstaff restaurant guide named the house Team of the Year; the wine list won the HENRIS Grand Selection Award 2026.
What does an evening at the EISVOGEL cost?
The monthly changing menu “Impression” is €228 for six courses and €248 for seven. A wine pairing or a non-alcoholic pairing can be added. To combine the evening with an overnight stay, see the arrangements under Stay.
Is there a dress code?
We are delighted if you enjoy the evening in smart casual attire. A jacket is not required — above all, we want you to feel at ease.
I have intolerances or allergies — what now?
Please let us know about any intolerances, allergies or aversions when making your reservation — the kitchen will gladly accommodate them. A vegetarian version of the menu is also available with advance notice.
Are children welcome?
An evening at the EISVOGEL unfolds over several hours. We therefore recommend the experience for guests aged about 12 and up. Do get in touch — together we will find a solution.
How does the reservation work — and what about cancellations?
Reserve conveniently online or by phone at +49 9439 950-0.
Should you be unable to attend, we kindly ask you to cancel no later than 48 hours before your reservation. For cancellations within 48 hours or in the event of a no-show, we charge 150 € per person.
Where do I park? Are there EV charging stations?
Complimentary parking is available directly at Der Birkenhof Spa & Genuss Resort. Twelve EV charging points are available on site.
Are dogs allowed?
Dogs are not permitted in the restaurant. At Der Birkenhof Spa & Genuss Resort, dogs are welcome in designated rooms — the hotel will be happy to advise you on the details.
Can I combine my visit with an overnight stay?
Absolutely — the EISVOGEL is set within the five-star Der Birkenhof Spa & Genuss Resort. After the menu, your bed is only a few steps away, and in the morning the 5,000 m²-plus spa awaits. The packages “Genuss Tag” and “Gourmetträume” already include your table with us: Stay & packages.
